About David Cole

I have been told I am not the typical finance guy or accountant. Numbers are important, yet people are the key ingredient to achieving desired results. I gain a “voice at the table” by learning products and processes and seeking competitive knowledge. I work collaboratively across groups and often work as coach and teacher. Applying financial analysis and cost accounting skills, I have helped improve operational effectiveness, build understanding of cost structures, and manage capital investment and inventory levels. Additionally, I measured key performance metrics and developed budgets to assist with day-to-day management of the business. A significant source of personal satisfaction comes from being considered a partner by functional areas that I supported. Listening and learning allowed me to apply relevant data to prioritize effort and communicate needs for improvement. A common theme for any organization is change. My experience with implementing and managing change started with initiatives at General Motors to lower costs, build organizational effectiveness, as well as capitalize on information technology. Soon after joining Constellation Brands, the company began an active growth period which provided ample opportunity to improve project management and communication skills, while keeping what I had previously learned fresh. Recently, assisting clients of a well-regarded consulting firm as well as supporting an entrepreneurial venture in the wine business reflect my desire to help others solve problems and achieve operational success.
