David Coogle is regarded as one of the most knowledgeable philatelists in the professional stamp-dealing world. Philately, the study of stamps and postal history, has been a passion of David Coogle’s since age 13 when he acquired his first U.S. stamp collection. Since 2010, David Coogle has served as Co-Chairman of Daniel F. Kelleher Auctions, LLC, which has offices in Danbury, Connecticut, and Needham Heights, Massachusetts, as well as in Hong Kong with its affiliated company Dynasty Auctions Company, Ltd. Established in 1885, Daniel F. Kelleher Auctions is the oldest philatelic auction house in the country. Mr. Coogle applies his lifelong skills as a professional philatelist to assess the market value of collectible stamps and envelopes known as postal history by collectors and determines which items should go before a public auction. David Coogle also serves as a Director of Dynasty Auctions Company, Ltd. Based in Hong Kong, Dynasty Auctions buys and accepts consignments and then sells at Public Auctions exquisite stamps and other postal history items from China, Hong Kong, Japan, and other Asian countries. Dynasty Auctions’ web site can be found at David Coogle studied business at the University of Pittsburgh and began trading in stamps when the renowned stamp dealer Andrew Levitt discovered his talents and asked him to join Nutmeg Stamp Sales in 1996. Mr. Coogle eventually served as President of the mail auction firm, which also conducted Public Auctions, which included the "Bischel" collection of used Civil War patriotic covers, which was the most complete different-design collection ever auctioned. The catalog won awards for its innovative design and historic content. After Nutmeg Stamp Sales was sold and merged with H.R. Harmer Auctions, David served as its President until it was relocated to the West Coast.
