About David Cozzi-Wickenden

Having worked as a Field Service Technician in both commercial and domestic appliances, in February 2022 I was offered the opportunity to moved into a Regional Field Service Manager’s role on a 9 month Secondment, managing a team of technicians in the Midlands. After a successful period managing that team, I made the permanent move into management, this time as Regional Field Service Manager for West London. I have always felt that I could bring a different style to management, viewing your team in similar way as you would in the sporting world like Football/Hockey/Netball or Rugby team, in the way that you have your Academy (Apprentice’s), Players (Field Technicians), Team Coach (Senior Technician), Team Manager (Field Service Manager), Sporting Director (National Field Manager), Chief Executive (Service Director) and Owner (Managing Director), the Academy is only as good as the Players they are learning from, and the Players only as good as the Coach who trains them, and the Coach can only do his job with the direction of his Manager, who in turn is judge by the results on the pitch by the Sporting Director, who needs to show the Chief Executive he made the right choice in appointing the Manager, because the owner will not accept poor results and will expect the best! So in everything I do I treat this role as above, we all have role in the Team, and we all have to do our bit to do, otherwise it falls apart and in the long run you could end up getting the chop as you are the person in between it all, people managing the Players and Coaches, while showing the Director, Chief Executive, and Owner your vision and leadership is right for the business.
