About David Cunningham

After spending 20 years in business performing a wide range of responsibilities, I went back to school at the University of Texas Permian Basin to earn a bachelor's degree in Education as of May 2023. The main source of my inspiration has been to help my severely autistic son who has been failed by his school district in so many ways, it's not even funny to consider the list of incompetence and ignorance that has impeded his education. The day I finished my last assignment of my senior year was also the same day that I pulled my son from his school; And since then, we have been working and making progress in his life. They told me in the beginning that his abilities would be limited - I didn't listen to the negative opinions and that is the most important aspect of it all - special needs children are not a lost hope, they need support and guidance. But often they are shoved off to the side and left to their own devices. If forgotten and neglected, often their future is bleak, with over 50% of them landing in jail or in a behavioral institution. THESE CHILDREN DESERVE A BETTER FUTURE, BUT THEY CANNOT DO IT WITHOUT SUPPORT. DO NOT GIVE UP! I made it my life goal to help my son who suffers from severe autism and ADHD and to help others that need educational support. I am currently designing a website to share instructional strategies that you can use at home to help teach your child more for free. Currently, my son and I are working on expanding his lexicon, using proper verbal expressions, sentence syntax, interrogative words, improving phonemic awareness, simple sentence comprehension, and by using a cross curricular of academics to save time.
