About David Cutter

As a pianist, I have had the great good fortune to receive the teaching of many highly regarded and renowned teachers. I am now a part of a well regarded teaching lineage and have learned the secrets to becoming an advanced pianist. With thirty five years of performance experience, twenty years of classroom teaching experience and eight years of private piano teaching, I have a rich background and depth of knowledge about teaching and the piano from which I draw upon. Musical study requires four types of memory to work together. The skills involved in using these memories allow the brain to work in a way that is unique to music. For students that are not so motivated to become advanced, I am flexible and can teach ways to have fun at the piano while learning the skills that lead to a musical brain. For the student who aspires to become advanced, I can open the door to truly advanced playing. Doing both can allow for career pursuits and a lifetime of musical enjoyment at the piano.
