As the Principal Architect and Vice President at RND Architects, I have over 27 years of experience in architecture, specializing in healthcare, commercial, municipal, retirement, and housing design. I am a registered architect in North Carolina and a LEED Accredited Professional with a Building Design + Construction (BD+C) designation, underscoring my commitment to sustainability and innovative design practices. My extensive project management experience has enabled me to successfully lead a diverse range of projects, including healthcare design, commercial upfits, and multi-family retirement communities. I pride myself on my detail-oriented approach and strong client relations, ensuring that each project aligns with the unique needs and aspirations of my clients. At RND Architects, fostering long-lasting relationships with our clients is a cornerstone of our success, reflected in our high rate of repeat clients. My notable projects include the UNC Health Specialty & IDS Pharmacy Upfit, NC DOJ Western Regional State Crime Laboratory, the Hillsborough Town Barn and Annex Renovation, and the transformation of UNC Chapel Hill’s Taylor Student Health Services facility. I am passionate about the art of architecture and always begin every design using traditional methods, such as sketching with pen and paper, to explore design solutions. In my spare time, I enjoy boating, mountain biking, snowboarding, and maintaining and driving my vintage 1980’s era Toyota vehicles, as well as a 1937 Chevrolet fire truck. I look forward to connecting with fellow professionals in the fields of architecture, construction, and sustainability, and contributing to the advancement of our industry, as well as promoting the advancement of new professionals in our field.
