The last six years of my life belonged to the United States Airforce, starting from a 19-year-old Pest Management Apprentice to the shop runner, program creator and executor. Tracked and implemented a base care schedule involving 403 structures with regular inspections Responsible for design, implementation, and tracking of workplace safety program including, but not limited to PPE, hazards of the workplace, proper lifting, ladder safety, ergonomics, and fire extinguisher training Cooperated with Public Health and Bioenvironmental to develop, maintain, instruct, and enforce a workplace-specific written respiratory protection program Oversee workplace HAZCOM program which includes proper storage, use, protective measures, spill response and SDS materials inclusive to over 100 pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals Served as facility manager responsible for submitting and tracking work requests, compiling and sending purchase requests, and managing equipment inventory In-charge of shop training program leading airmen from tech-school apprentice to state certified applicators through year-long upgrade program. During my time with the Airforce, I was not only part of the Entomology team but also volunteered with The Airmen Against Drunk Driving service The Civil Engineers Booster Club 366 TRS Solid Rock Café Airmen Ministry Center Fairfield Adopt-A-Road Program Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Twin Peak Chapel Airmen Run Café Thrive Church as a light and set designer and engineer My time in the Airforce showed me some truly marvelous experiences, from riding camels in Qatar to exploring the beaches/woods of California. I will always cherish them, but it has now become time for me to explore new areas and create new opportunities to thrive and do my part in helping my community do so too.
