About David Dearlove
I completed my DPhil at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford, where I studied the effects of a ketone ester drink on human metabolism, physiology, and exercise performance. After completing a 1-year post-doc in the same laboratory, I moved to the Hodson Group at the Oxford Centre of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, where I was investigating genotype x lifestyle interactions and their effects on cardiovascular disease risk factors. This work is funded through a British Heart Foundation project grant, for which I was the lead applicant.Utilising the research skills learnt during my ~8 years in Oxford, I am now a Principal Researcher at Nesta - a social innovation charity - where project lead trials in the food sector to encourage the purchase of healthy and sustainable foods.Before moving to academia/research, I previously worked in the telecommunications sector for Cisco, NextiraOne (now Dimension Data) and Nortel Networks.
