About David Debruin

David deBruin is a Partner at the law firm of Napoli Shkolnik, managing its Delaware office located in Wilmington. David is admitted to practice in Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has significant experience in effectively managing a full array of complex civil litigation cases, including: product liability (including victims of mesothelioma and lung cancer from exposure to asbestos; and victims of pharmaceutical products and medical devices), environmental hazards (contamination by drilling, fracking, spillage, seepage, emissions, runoff, or improper disposal of waste, chemicals, toxins, radiation, biologicals, or heavy metals), catastrophic personal injury, class actions, shareholder derivative suits and other corporate litigation in the Court of Chancery, as well as intellectual property litigation in the United States District Court for the District of Delaware. Mr. deBruin has represented clients at trial and in appellate matters in all of the state and federal courts where he is admitted to practice. David has been recognized by his peers and distinguished members of the legal community by being named one of the Best Lawyers in America, as determined by Best Lawyers® from 2015-2022. He has also been named one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by The American Trial Lawyers Association since 2013. In 2021 and 2022, David was also named a Top Lawyer by Main Line Today magazine. He was named a "Rising Star” in the Philadelphia area by Super Lawyers magazine in 2005. David served as a contributing member of the Editorial Board of The Journal of the Delaware State Bar Association from 2008-2018. David was appointed the first ever Plaintiffs' Coordinating Counsel for the asbestos docket by the Superior Court in 2011 and served the Court in that role for more than 2 years. He is an active member of the Delaware Trial Lawyers Association and the Richard S. Rodney Inn of Court. Mr. deBruin holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctor from the Delaware School of Law at Widener University.
