About David Field

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Exercise and Sport Science through the University of Newcastle in 2011, prior to commencing a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology (Rehabilitation) through CSU in 2012; graduating in 2013. From here I began working with Advanced Exercise Physiology in Newcastle with an AEP at a gymnasium until July 2014, when I received an offer to move to Canberra and work within the OR field. I then began working as a Rehabilitation Consultant / AEP with Rehabilitation Services by Altius in July 2014, and was then promoted to a Principal Consultant / Team Leader in May 2016; working mostly with ACT WorkCover, along with Comcare and WorkCover NSW. I relocated to the Gold Coast in October 2016, and then commenced work in Beenleigh in schemes including WorkCover QLD, Life Insurance, and CTP, covering the entire SE QLD region. The main components of my role with Altius included attending medical and specialist case conferences and facilitating meetings, conducting workplace visits and assessments, engaging with an array of stakeholders through case management and assisting return to work outcomes for injured workers, and completing pre-employment and full functional capacity assessments. I also completed major projects with small and large employers to build job dictionaries/task analysis and assessments as required, expanding into the injury prevention and non-comp space building my expertise. I am an ambitious person who is always striving for consistent, evidence based, high quality performance from myself and my colleagues. I have since relocated back to the ACT in 2020 to complete an initial secondment with Comcare as an Injury Management Advisor employed by APM, moving to a direct position with Comcare in 2021. I have since won a permanent role in the RTW Support team and am currently the Acting Assistant Director since Feb 2023.
