Thank you for reading my profile. I'm an experienced video production professional capable of producing, editing, and shooting video—with two decades of hands-on work in the dynamic world of video production. From brainstorming ideas to bringing them to life, I've been a part of it all. Presently, I'm the one-man band behind Spoteractive Media, a venture I kicked off in January 2010. As a freelancer, I’ve been all about delivering top-notch video production services to small businesses, local agencies, and partner production companies. It's been a great journey, and I've had the pleasure of working with a few hundred fantastic small businesses—all thanks to referrals and the numerous clients who’ve stayed with me since the beginning. Specializing in video for retail businesses, I've become the go-to person for everything from automotive advertising to sporting goods, and furniture. I've also collaborated with a few local agencies and production companies, contributing my editing skills to a diverse range of projects. Whether it's crafting compelling commercials, telling captivating business stories, showcasing products, or promoting events, I've got it covered. Ideation, proposal writing, copywriting, budgeting, and managing client expectations are all in a day's work for me. But my true passion is putting it all together in post-production: editing visuals and sound, blending with layered motion graphics, and exporting a polished piece in formats from 16:9 broadcast and YouTube to 9:16 social media. My everyday tools include the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of applications: Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop, Illustrator, Media Encoder, and more recently - Adobe Express. I rely on FrameIO for client reviews and have experience with Slack and Notion. For my business, I use the Google Workspace suite of tools and am proficient with Quickbooks Desktop and Online software. As important, I am also motivated by strategic thinking when it comes to video's place in the marketing funnel—producing the right video for the right audience for the right purpose on the right platform- instead the 'just need a video' approach. I'm a fan of Marcus Sheridan of “They Ask, You Answer” video content creation fame - and Ben Amos whose training in video marketing as a discipline has been invaluable (matching the right video to the right audience on the right platform!).
