My 10 plus years in the Environmental Consulting industry has allowed me to develop a broad skill set including Environmental Site Assessments, Annual Monitoring Reporting, and work in various Ecological Studies for private individual and municipalities. Currently, as a Specialist / Ecologist I am responsible for coordinating proposals and technical report writing for Environmental Impact Studies, Natural Heritage Evaluations, and Species at Risk Assessments. I provide technical expertise in vegetation inventory and visual and auditory species identification as well as wildlife screening on active high profile construction sites which require specialized Health & Safety training. I will complete targeted and general wildlife surveys for a variety of wildlife and associated habitats including Species at Risk (SAR), fish spawning habitat surveys, mammals, amphibians, birds, and reptiles. Tasks include field investigations, data management, utilizing QGIS software, and project execution. I have expertise in completing Phase I and Phase II CSA and RSC Environmental Site Assessments for municipal and private clients, and financial institutions. I supervise the detailed subsurface investigations contingent with Phase II assessments including: supervising drill rigs, the excavation of test pits, advancement of overburden and bedrock wells, obtaining overburden soil samples and groundwater samples as well as soil vapour samples. I have been part of numerous annual monitoring programs. My tasks included collecting groundwater and surface water samples from monitoring locations, organization and submission of samples for analysis, preparation of annual monitoring reports and data interpretation. I have been responsible for overseeing soil remediation programs, butternut tending, and routine maintenance for groundwater treatment systems.
