Background

About David G. Kocinski

I am passionate about being a catalyst that helps to transform dreams into reality. Providing psychological services to upcoming military officers, guiding their instructors to maximise their trainee's efforts and providing organisational psychological services to the Headquarters Air Academy at RAAF Base East Sale are my main areas of focus. Educating and helping others to learn how they can reach their potentials while using practical wisdom and good humour is a big part of my life. Mindfulness, acceptance, persistence and fun are cornerstones of my practice. Working in a number of industries over the years in a multitude of differing roles prior to my tertiary studies and subsequent profession has allowed me to gain a unique perspective on the lives of others and the challenges they may face. My life experience provides me with a depth of understanding which can bridge many gaps while allowing me to help clients and organisations reach their desired outcomes. I have been a mentor for the University of Southern Queensland and University of New England. I enjoy speaking in public and private domains when given the opportunity. Areas of continued interest include Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Mindfulness, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT), Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Aviation Psychology, Positive Psychology, Hypnosis, accelerated learning and memory techniques. Continuing professional, personal development and learning in general is a staple in my life as it is with all lifelong learners. You will often find me listening to audible books when I get the chance and I am an avid movie buff. Going for drives, visiting national parks and having a great time with great mates are also favourites.
