About David Garritt

I am a Director of S&D Garritt Ltd, a family run acoustic consultancy with experience in most aspects of acoustics. The original company was started by my father Steve Garritt in 1981 and is now continued by me and my sister Elizabeth. We undertake acoustic consultancy for residential and industrial planning applications, entertainment and leisure projects, outdoor music events and other mixed use developments. We have extensive experience with School Acoustics and developments subject to BREEAM assessments. We can also offer assistance with preparation of noise evidence for Appeals and represent clients at hearings where needed. I am a full member of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA) and lecture part time on the post-graduate IOA Diploma course at Leeds Beckett University. We are members of the Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) and are registered on the ANC scheme for sound insulation tests as required by the Building Regulations Approved Document E. I sit on the communications & PR comittee for the ANC and I am one of their media spokespeople. We can offer assessments and test work to recognised British Standards and guidance documents, or create bespoke acoustic performance criteria for your project based on what you want to achieve.
