About David Garza
The first phase of my professional career was comprised of twenty-five years as a solo family physician, and many opportunities to teach medical students and coach those interested in becoming physicians. During that time my outside involvement included service on several professional and civic organizations and also the Texas Medical Board. As a bridge to my current roles at UIW's School of Osteopathic Medicine, I closed my medical practice to start a Family Medicine residency program and also was instrumental in starting and securing a Director for our Internal.Medicine residency. My goals during this next phase are to continue honing my skills as a medical educator, well-rounded leader, and effective mentor.
