About David Gaskin

David Gaskin is a Credible Messenger Mentor at Rising Ground, where he works with youth, families, and communities to find positive paths forward from challenging situations. He has over 10 years of experience in the field of violence prevention and intervention, as well as storytelling and capacity building. As part of his role, he supports the Justice for Youth & Families programs, which aim to reduce the involvement of youth in the court and detention system, and help them discover their inner strengths and resilience. He also contributes to the Moth as a Storyteller and Storyteller Instructor, where he helps people craft their personal stories as therapeutic support. Additionally, David is a Non- Profit Consultant at Conspiring For Good, where he provides training and technical assistance for the Cure Violence / Crisis Management System communities and abroad. David is passionate about promoting the art and craft of storytelling, and honoring and celebrating the diversity and commonality of human experience.
