About David Gaspar

My deep and long-standing interest in environment and sustainability subjects led me to complete a MSc degree in Environmental Engineering from FCT NOVA (2021). At same time, I was involved in several initiatives (waste management, nature conservation/ecosystem restoration and sustainable mobility services). I'm passionate about innovative and disruptive projects, with a focus on promoting circularity and implementing sustainable energy systems and low-carbon technologies, especially minimizing the impact of their life cycles. It this way, my MSc thesis focused on the recovery of critical raw materials from industrial waste, through methods that supports the creation of Circular Economy chains that allow achieving climate neutrality. During my academic career, I collaborated with the waste@NOVA research group, more precisely in monitoring campaigns for pilot projects for the implementation of automatic beverage packaging RVM machines, of which I carried out environmental, economic and social assessments. My professional career had started with a brief stint in the Technical-Commercial Department of a large waste management company. In 2022, I joined the Infrastructure Department of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, with the aim of leveraging the Benfica Group's environmental sustainability project – ECO Benfica. Among the various initiatives developed, the implementation of a reusable cup system and a circular economy project based on the collection and transformation of used cooking oil stands out. Recently, I joined 3drivers to provide support mainly in matters related to waste management and the efficient use of resources, in terms of strategic planning and technical and economic analysis of urban waste collection and recovery solutions.
