I am a highly skilled and experienced golf industry specialist, awarded global qualifications from The Club Managers Association and The Professional Golfers Association (UK), in a career spanning over 30 years. Continued self development through education programmes and workplace experience ensures that my professionalism is constantly evolving in all core areas of the golf industry Including Governance, Financial Management, Capex, Property Maintenance, Social Media Marketing, Communication, Strategic Planning, Food and Beverage Management, Retail and Merchandising, General Marketing, Media and Public Relations, Compliance and HR. Having managed member dominant, visitor dominant, parkland and links clubs I understand the challenges attached to them and recognise that one shoe does not fit all. Multitasking, troubleshooting, fixing problems, managing change, developing teams, building a culture, implementing processes, being transparent and honest and leading from the front are all attributes that, in addition to core skills, have helped me succeed to date. Experience and skillset allows me to Manage from above and/or build from the bottom up and I excel in both roles. As well as having the technical tools to do the job I have learned that customers and staff are key to the success of any business, and gaining their trust and support is essential to achieving every organisation’s goals.
