About David Gilbert

With a rich background as a Showrunner, Director and Executive Producer, I have a proven track record of producing prime time returnable programming for top-tier UK and US broadcasters, including BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, SKY, Discovery USA, and National Geographic Channel USA. My work with leading indies in the UK has consistently garnered high ratings and critical acclaim. My portfolio includes the successful "Deep Water Salvage" series, where I served as a Series Producer for all three seasons. This series, which follows salvage companies worldwide, was recommissioned for a third series due to its popularity. I was responsible for supervising the editorial, shaping stories, and managing multiple shoots and edit suites simultaneously. I also served as the Executive Producer and Director for "Bismarck: 24 Hours To Doom," a landmark documentary featuring never-before-seen testimonies from veterans who fought in the battle. This project involved extensive use of CGI and archive materials. In addition to these, I've produced a variety of other successful series such as "Cops On the Rock,""Flight For Life,""Wings of War,""Jordan: State of a Kingdom," and "Virgin Galactic." Each of these projects presented unique challenges, from securing exclusive access to sensitive locations and managing large production teams, to scripting series and supervising edits. My experience extends to business-to-business content as well, having set up and launched a new Channel for SKY TV aimed at the licensed trade. I managed daily live news studios, onscreen talent, and six production teams, while also devising and series producing six series. I have a knack for securing access to exclusive locations and events, as demonstrated by my work on "Formula E: Racing Recharged," an observational documentary with exclusive access to racing teams and organizers of the world's first all-electric global motor racing championship. Throughout my career, I have consistently delivered high-quality content within tight budgets, managed large production teams, and supervised multiple edit suites running simultaneously. I am adept at developing narratives for series, managing onscreen talent, and securing access to sensitive contributors.
