Background
About David Gildemeister
I've joined the Materials Engineering Faculty at Purdue University as Professor of Practice. I am focused on teaching and working with industrial partners to solve difficult problems and expand opportunities. I am also proud to be the Technical Editor at CINDAS, LLC a provider of technical data and information on a vast array of engineered materials. I've worked in the aluminum industry for over 30 years in process and quality engineering, research and development, technical management and operations management. My primary focus has been in casting technology including DC and EMC casting of both rectangular ingot, billet, as well as continuous casting (HDC, HMC, and twin belt). I have experience in hot rolling and extrusion of aluminum alloys and served as the Ingot Plant Manager and Quality Manager at Arconic-Chandler where we produced hard alloy aluminum extrusions for the Aerospace and other industries. I received my PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2016.
