About David Gillespie

Mr. David B. Gillespie completed his career in DoD in July 2021, most recently serving as the Deputy Director of Analysis, Lessons Learned, and Continuous Process Improvement and Innovation at headquarters Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. He provided formal analytical and problem-solving decision support to Air Force leadership. Mr. Gillespie received his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Georgia College and a Master of Science in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He is a career operations research analyst with 35 years’ experience, having assignments at the U.S. Army Aviation Center of Excellence, the Boeing Company, Science Applications International Corporation, and the U.S. Air Force Reserve Command. He has held diverse roles performing and leading analysis of alternatives and systems engineering for major weapon system development and acquisition decisions, advanced concepts development, special programs and technical evaluations, modeling and simulation software development and application, wargaming, mission analysis, force structure design analysis, cost analysis, strategic planning, policy analysis, and decision analysis.Dave is an avid runner, and if you drive through Macon or Jones County you can see him pounding the pavement and in pain. He is a member of the Macon Tracks Running Club, and competes in local 5K and 10K races. For fun (and to annoy the neighbors), Dave has been playing the bagpipes for years, and is now playing with the Mercer University Pipes and Drums. This is a first-rate band and Dave has a lot of learning to do. He is affiliated with the Red White and Blue (RWB) Warner Robins Chapter, where they deliver local, consistent, and inclusive opportunities for veterans and the community to connect through physical and social activity. Volunteers host regular fitness activities, social gatherings, and community service events, building a strong connection with members and organizations within the community. Dave has two sons (a HS senior, and a University of North Georgia grad (and Cadet) now serving law enforcement in Peachtree City). When not doing important stuff, Dave tries to keep the grass down on his 40 acres surrounding a 1925 farmhouse in Jones County
