About David Gourlay

I have over 20 years of consultancy experience. I work within Social Value Lab, the social research arm of CEIS, a social purpose organisation. We offer services in impact measurement, strategy development and support. I help implement effective business strategies and measure progress towards outcomes. Clients can report their impact and capitalise on emerging opportunities. I support organisations to better prepare themselves to diversify income streams and I have specific expertise in measuring return on investment including social value. I have worked with voluntary sector organisations to set up enterprises, build capacity, improve governance and sustain services. I have advised on funding options and Community Benefit fund distribution and monitoring. I previously managed European Structural Funds as well as advising on other funding streams. I support clients to develop better strategic plans, with clearer evidence of need and to make a stronger case for funding. My previous clients include Amazon UK, Pfizer, Aberlour Children’s Charity, UK Sport; Skills Development Scotland, Sport England, Scottish Government, Premier League Charitable Trust, England Golf, The National Lottery Community Fund, Historic Environment Scotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, local authorities, Government Departments and many voluntary, community and social enterprises. I am a member of Social Value Uk, Social Research Association, the Institute of Economic Development. And I am a member of Institute of Fundraising.
