About David Gray

Junior Test Specialist working at Fujitsu, Basingstoke. Previous experience - Veteran of the Royal Navy having spent 24 years as an experienced logistics manager, facilities manager and leadership instructor. I joined the Royal Navy as a chef and experienced a variety of jobs during my career, including Security Facilities Manager, Leadership Instructor, Level 5 Coach Practitioner, Sub-Department Head of Catering Services and Departmental Co-Ordinator for Logistics. I am currently employed as a Test Specialist for Fujitsu and enjoying this new chapter in my career. My abilities lend themself to leadership and management, problem solving, thinking analytically and working under pressure. I am a passionate learner who is very hands on with a can-do attitude. In 2018 I completed an Access course in STEM which I thoroughly enjoyed; it was the first time I had taken on any higher education in a field that I am interested in. Wanting to further my STEM studies I commenced a BSc in Computing and IT with the Open University. Completing the first year (two modules) in "Discovering mathematics" and" Introduction to computing and information technology" gaining credible marks, this gave me the confidence boost this trade Caterer needed. I have had to pause my studies due to ongoing work commitments. My hope is to resume a pathway to achieving a recognised STEM qualification in the next year as I transition from the services.
