About David Greenberg

As part of the Office of the Mayor, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is responsible for preparing the Mayor's Preliminary and Executive Budgets and for advising the Mayor on issues affecting the City's fiscal health and the efficiency of City services and programs. This includes tracking all revenues and expenditures, developing tax policies and assessing City programs. OMB manages the City's $107 billion operating and $165 billion capital budgets for 90 City agencies and entities. OMB is also at the center of enhancing Citywide operations management, with a focus on evaluating the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of services.OMB is, in effect, the City government's chief financial office. It examines each aspect of government by looking for ways to improve existing services, making sure that services already being offered are needed and appropriately used and looking ahead to see how current trends could affect the City and the economy. I'm the Deputy Director for Health and Social Services overseeing the Administration for Children’s Services, Department of Social Services/ Human Resources Administration, Department of Homeless Services, Department of Youth and Community Development, Department for the Aging, Department of Veteran’s Services, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, NYC Health + Hospitals, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the City’s Medicaid program.
