Background
About David Gross
David Gross is an economist and public policy thought leader. With nearly three decades of experience of senior research and policy positions in not-for-profit organizations, his career has involved assessing issues as disparate as health care delivery and finance, prescription drug pricing, tax policy, and housing policy in the US and in developing countries. As the founding director of the Policy Roundtable at the College of American Pathologists (CAP), Dr. Gross created a policy research institute for understanding the socioeconomic trends facing pathologists, in guiding CAP’s elected leaders to develop public policy positions, and to elevate the voice of CAP leaders in providing vision, insight, and direction on economic public policy issues affecting pathology. Both at the CAP and in his previous positions at the AARP, the US Government Accountability Office, and elsewhere, Dr. Gross has established a record as a timely and effective researcher, facilitator, communicator, and consensus builder. Dr. Gross has a proven track record of creating partnerships and building consensus with disparate groups of stakeholders and in providing issue area expertise and advice to executive staff and governing bodies. He is an experienced, results-oriented leader who empowers decision-making among government and industry leaders and facilitates development of research-based innovation solutions. Throughout his career, Dr. Gross has been recognized for his ability to communicate and engage a variety of audiences, including policy makers and staff, academia, interest groups, and the general public to convey complex ideas and issues to a wide range of audiences.
