About David Gulland

David is an Architect and Principal at HASSELL in our Perth Studio, responsible for the development of education architecture in this region. David specialises in leading teams in the design and delivery of learning environments that respond to their site, context and community. He is a Deputy Chair of the Architects Board of WA, and a Committee Member for the Association of Consulting Architects (WA). David is currently the Principal in Charge of projects including the UWA Reid Library refurbishment, ASC Vertical School in the Perth CBD, AUS$50m Balga TAFE project and AUS$50m Bob Hawke College Stage 2. He was also the PiC for the AUS$80m EZONE UWA project for the University of Western Australia, winner of the AIA (WA) 2021 Hillson Beasley Award for Educational Architecture and the Prix Versailles World Prize (campus category) for 2021. Other projects include the AIA (WA) 2017 George Temple Poole Award and Hillson Beasley Award for Educational Architecture for Willetton Senior High School, along with other award winning projects such as MacKillop Catholic College (Darwin), Dalyellup College and the AUS$2 billion Fiona Stanley Hospital.
