About David Gust

As a geological consultant, I enjoy working on challenging problems utilising my many years of experience, blending an awareness of çlassical' geology with modern techniques to offer insightful solutions'. Drawing on my management experience, ability to think strategically, and build productive teams, I can offer unbiased critical assessments of work environments and work collaboratively to develop positive work cultures and facilitate change. With over 40 years of experience in the university sector, I have worked simultaneously as a senior manager (Head of School, Assistant Dean) and a practicing geologist. I specialise in 'hard rock' petrology, mineralogy and geochemistry and have worked on problems with both the mineral resource and oil and gas sector in Australia. As a researcher, worked across the globe and published papers on a variety of topics - from volcanology to experimental mineralogy. I am proficient in geochemical data acquisition, analysis and interpretation.
