About David Hammond

I believe that the two most important facets of a career are passion and excellence. I have a passion to grow/learn and a drive to provide the most excellent work possible. When I began my career, I was a teacher for four years. I acquired many skills and enjoyed many aspects of being a teacher. My passion and excellence were demonstrated by consistently raising student achievement and pushing their abilities to the limit. I have now transitioned into the private sector working for Dominion Systems, a software company based in Grand Rapids, MI. I absolutely love the work I do and the people who I work with. I strive every day to provide excellent service to my clients, and I have passion to become an expert in the Software as a Service (SaaS) industry, particularly as it relates to payroll and HR. Here is a list of some of my accomplishments at Dominion Systems: •Became expert in all aspects of company software and related regulations in: timekeeping, employee records, onboarding, payroll, benefits, applicant tracking, and reporting •Planned and performed customized in-person and remote software trainings for various types of companies, ranging in size from 1- employees •Used acquired knowledge of IRS and DOL regulations to advise companies in creating best practices that adhere to legal guidelines •Speaker at annual company year-end workshops to help companies prepare for year end, including topics on YE adjustments/fringe benefits, policies, and IRS regulations •Researched and implemented new online scheduling software system for department that cut out menial tasks and allowed for more time on important projects •Worked closely with the IT and QA department to give software recommendations based on customer feedback and needs •Conducted internal training for new hires •Designed and conducted company-wide trainings on both business and industry related topics •Learned how to program and troubleshoot timekeeping solutions for clients
