I served as a Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst and team lead in support of The Department of Homeland Security for eight (8) years where I lead a team of seven (7) SOC analysts that manned a 24x7 SOC doing Incident Response, IDS monitoring, and analysis, analyzing network traffic, log analysis, prioritizing and differentiating between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms while also routinely investigating PII and classified spills. The team that I lead would routinely create and track investigations to resolution along with composing security notifications and remediation efforts for our stakeholders and auditing our active investigations while regularly updating our Standard operating procedures. I advised incident responders on the steps to investigate and resolve computer security incidents while supervising, mentoring, and training junior analysts.We Utilized tools such as Splunk E.S, CrowdStrike, McAfee Enterprise EPO, Infoblox, Cofense, Tanium, Tenable, Swimlane and ServiceNow.My team was instrumental in two successful contract re-bids of a major government project with two companies-Accenture Federal Services and Defense Point Security.
