About David Harning
I study Earth’s climate history to understand how the Arctic will change in a warmer, wetter, and human-dominated world. Our climate is changing fast but has been warm and unstable before. My goal is to use these natural “experiments” to improve model-based predictions and find solutions to future climate change, e.g. carbon dioxide removal (CDR). My expertise includes organizing remote fieldwork, analytical geochemistry, data analysis, project management, scientific communication, and above all, quickly learning complex new material.
