About David Harper
David has over 22 years experience in the oil & gas industry. Joining Omega in Oct 2010 he previously spent 5 years as Senior Design Engineer with Caledyne Ltd where he was working closely on their Patented - Metal To Metal (MTM) Seal for Bridge Plugs and Packers. David also worked on their Patented Torus Safety Valve System (which was nominated for the Scottish Offshore Association Award in 2008). Prior to Caledyne, he spent 5 years at Weatherford Completions where he started as a Design Draughtsman in the Linger Hanger and Packer Group before moving onto Design Engineer Position within the Flow Control Division. During his time at Weatherford he worked on their Liner Hangers, Top Set Packers, Uniset Locks and Slick-Plugs. Since joining Omega, David has worked on the Gemini Bridge plug which he has seen the completion of their main sizes through to the requirements of ISO 14310 V3. David is now working on to develop more Bridge Plug sizes and also taking their existing equipment to a higher ISO 14310 grade.
