About David Hodson

David is a leader in the IT security and controls field, with two decades of experience in helping large corporations enhance and maintain their application security, compliance, and control environments through leading practice methodologies and innovative technology. Specializing in ERP technology (mainly SAP), he has successfully spearheaded teams to deliver comprehensive control solutions in areas such as general identity management, Segregation of Duties, Emergency Access Management, Privileged Access Management, and privacy. He also has extensive experience with IT General Controls and system-related business process controls. Most recently, David has led the development and deployment of control monitoring programs at his clients leveraging automation, data analytics, and visualization to simplify and strengthen second line of defense activities. David has spent 18 of his 20 year career working as a consultant with PwC. He started within the external IT audit practice delivering SOx IT integrated audits for seven years, before he transitioned to the consulting practice for Cyber, Risk, and Regulatory where he focused on implementing automated access and control solutions for ERP-related technology. Throughout his career, he has deployed a combination of soft skills and technical capabilities to help define and deliver value for executive stakeholders, leveraging solutions involving data analytics, automation, proprietary software products, and visualization. David thrives on delivering a genuine and positive client experience while deploying project management disciplines and value realization principles to lead teams in tackling complex security and control related problems.
