For over 20 years I have helped grow some of the most influential companies in the real estate space, as well as enabled an IPO for a real estate business that has gone on to reach a $1bn market cap. Since then, I have co-founded Sound Capital Loans, which provides homebuilders with the reliable financing they need to scale their business and continue to supply much-need housing for American families. During this time, Sound Capital Loans has funded over $2.1B in loans, with our expertise culminating in a span of over twelve years and over 3,100 projects funded.After taking the real estate tech company HouseValues public in 2004, I turned to a financial advisor to invest my profits. In a single day, he lost $1.5mm of my money. This was a catalyst to start seeking my own secure investment options. From my experience, real estate seemed the perfect option. Cutting out multiple middlemen in one hit, I acquired a construction lending business. Adjusting the company’s focus, we handpicked ambitious, mid-sized homebuilders in high-growth areas, and helped them take their businesses to the next level. Nothing warms my heart like a client success story. Sound Capital Loans is particularly rewarding for me for two reasons. Sound Capital Loans specializes in providing capital solutions for midsize homebuilders in high growth markets in Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and North Carolina.Our funding is best suited for construction firms with at least 50 builds, ideally with 200-400 or more homes under their belt.
