About David Hume

My experiences have taken me throughout the Northern Territory local and remote, the beautiful Pilbara in Western Australia local and remote providing a technical resource for the maintenance and repairs to all manners of equipment and systems to do with mining and rail transport telecommunications and electronics. I have spent many years in open cut iron ore mines, offshore LNG and oil platforms and FPSO’s, these employment opportunities have encompassed rosters varying from a 5 day working week to FIFO, on call and extended time away from the family conducting major projects. I have been in lead roles involved in small and major projects from a Tropposcatter refurbishment worth millions to a RLAN Mesh installation on an island supporting a drilling program worth $100K. I am comfortable being a part of team and or leading the team, I have been the sole telecommunications technician many times in remote communities maintaining multiple mine sites as well as rail signalling telecommunications equipment. There has been roles were I was the leading hand directing a team of 6 technicians, 4 apprentices supporting 4 offshore facilities and a 4 train LNG plant, and others being the System Owner of Telecommunications equipment the Chevron Gorgon LNG Plant on Barrow Island. I feel comfortable in either roles, rosters and mining orientation, I feel confident in my workplace and my ability but am always looking to learn.
