Leading integration of state-of-the-art automotive safety standards (ISO 26262, 21448, UL 4600) and emergent autonomous best practices into the existing, strong new product development process. Fostering success by training, coaching, and facilitating management and staff in implementing state-of-the-art automotive product safety across the full product life cycle. Developing the company safety culture from values to specific workflows and procedures. As a Product Safety Technical Specialist, I enjoy working with cross-functional teams at all levels and aim to bring out the best everyone has to offer. Throughout my career, I have collaborated closely with electronics, software, mechanical, quality, and test engineers to develop new electronic products and the manufacturing systems for them. As the Systems Engineering Technical Specialist for Safety, I am responsible for operational safety of heavy truck systems controlled by ADAS and autonomous equipment. I am also building the corporate safety culture. I have been in this role for 1.5 years. I have a foundation of 3.5years in railway RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety per EN 50126, 50128, and 50129) with 3 of those serving as the Safety Manager for a major OEM heavy haul locomotive project. I coordinated internal and outside engineering, oversaw creation of the safety case, wrote key sections of it, and responded to extensive, detailed Independent Assessor and Auditor comments. The safety case was certified by TUV Rheinland and TUV Sud and was accepted by the customer's national railway authority.
