Background
About David J. McRae
After several years of working in retail, I made my transition to human services in 2018. I became a Recovery Treatment Assistant in September of that year, working with psychiatric patients committed for evaluation and treatment. In August of 2020, I signed on a Residential Counselor at Veterans Inc, which provides assistance to homeless veterans in need of housing and/or work. In addition to my human services work, I also work as a genealogical researcher (paid, pro-bono, and volunteer), with keen interest in New England, Swedish, and Canadian research. I have worked off-and-on as volunteer research at the Brockton Public Library. I have also assisted individuals in finding and reuniting with biological relatives through DNA research. I am also the Secretary for the Massachusetts Genealogical Council, a non-profit organization based in Massachusetts dedicated to open records access and education.
