About David J.

With over 11 years of experience as a network engineer, I have developed expertise in a broad range of networking and systems engineering areas, such as Cisco routers, switches, and wireless controllers, network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, networking protocols, and network security. I currently work as a Senior Network Engineer at Rack Room Shoes, where I am responsible for the ongoing configuration and support of the organization's network infrastructure that powers the wired, wireless, and VoIP needs of the main campus, extension sites, and all stores. One of my key accomplishments at Rack Room Shoes was the successful migration of over 500 stores to a new TierPoint data center, coordinating with AT & T and other outside vendors and partners. I also implemented TACACS+ across 500 remote store routers and switches, enhancing the network access security and control. Moreover, I have a strong interest and proficiency in network automation, Infrastructure as Code, and NetOps, utilizing tools such as Ansible, Git, and GitLab CE. I am always looking to expand my knowledge and experience in these areas, as well as to contribute to the optimization and innovation of the network operations and performance at Rack Room Shoes.
