About David James Baptiste

For the past two decades the focus of my career has been in heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, fire protection, electrical design and process piping design and installation. Before returning to engineering school at the University of Colorado Denver, I owned a fully licensed license and insured plumbing and mechanical contracting company. In 2007 I sold Liquid Systems to pursue an engineering position and complete my education. Since that time I have been employed as a mechanical engineer and senior project manager in the construction industry. In 2011 I received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver. The combination of my knowledge of the construction industry, field mechanic skills, academic training and design experience in MEP engineering provides me with an in depth understanding of the electrical, fire protection, HVAC, plumbing, process piping systems and CSA components utilized in today's most stringent building environments. I look forward to obtaining my Professional Engineering (PE) license this spring. My work as a mechanical engineer and Sr Project Manager allowed for the opportunity to design, construct and commission engineered MEP systems in the communities I have resided in South Carolina, Colorado, Massachusetts and Connecticut. I welcome all opportunities to better the world we live in through the implication of sound, sustainable, and environmentally aware engineering and construction practices.
