About David Jech

With a PhD in Physical and Materials Engineering and over 4 years of hands-on experience in the space industry, I bridge the gap between complex scientific research and successful project delivery. Currently, I serve as an R&D Technical Manager at 5M, where I lead a team of engineers developing subsystems for European Space Agency (ESA) missions. My core strength lies in managing the full lifecycle of space projects, from initial design and ECSS compliance to the manufacturing, verification and qualification of processes and products. Key highlights of my career: Leadership: Successfully led a project consortium as a Prime contractor for a major ESA project in partnership with Thales Alenia Space. Technical Authority: Responsible for technical development, documentation, and realization of projects strictly adhering to ECSS standards. Results: Delivered 3 major ESA projects, several national R&D projects, and oversaw the creation of two complex subsystems. My approach combines rigorous technical management with strategic planning (risk analysis, capacity planning, cost control). I thrive in international environments, communicating daily with partners across Europe to turn ambitious concepts into flight-ready reality.
