About David Keeney

I am finally retired (as of May 1 2013). Of course if some really interesting project comes along perhaps I might be interested. I have developed projects using C, C++, C#, Java, PHP, and some assembly as well as scripting languages such as Unix and Linux shells, DOS command files, Tcl/Tk, Perl, and Python. I am comfortable with MS Windows and the command level access to Unix/Linux as well as the GUI interfaces. I have worked on many projects that required me to write complicated multi-threaded low-level logic and complex data structures, and data communications protocols. I take pride in writing code that is efficient, well tested, well documented in comments, and maintainable. I have worked as an individual contributor, a member of a team, and as team lead. My experience includes all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), waterfall and Agile in various settings using many tools such as UML, Subversion (SVN), SourceSafe, ClearCase, GIT, Bugzilla, Bamboo, and some home grown systems. I can adjust quickly to whatever environment a customer prefers. Worked at PayPal as a Software Engineer in Scottsdale AZ for 2-1/2 years, retired in May 2013. I will be open to interesting projects. I am flexible regarding on-site/off-site and work hours, and open to projects with travel. I am also flexible on hiring arrangements.
