About David Keyson

David Keyson, a distinguished Antoni van Leeuwenhoek full professor, leads research work in the area of design for societal change and energy at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering, Delft University of Technology. His educational work focuses on interactive technology design in the context of smart products and environments. Since September 2020 he works part-time as the Chief Diversity Officer the university and heads of the Diversity and Inclusion Office. Prior to joining TU Delft, he worked at Philips Research as a Senior Research Scientist in Media Interaction and at Xerox in the department of Industrial Design and Human Interface. He holds a PhD from the Technical University of Eindhoven in Perception and Technology and a Masters of Science in Ergonomics from Loughborough University. David has consulted for a wide range of companies and has served as an expert witness for user interface litigation in high profile European patent cases. He has authored over 300 scientific papers. He holds 16 patents relating to input devices and design principles of multimodal user-system interaction and is on the editorial board of journal of JAISE (Ambient Intelligence Smart Environments). He founded OfficeVitae in 2016, a spinoff of the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology.
