About David Kosmatka

This is a background in progress. My father, like many used the military as a way out of his immediate environment. He left Warsaw North Dakota, more precisely his grandparents farm southeast of Warsaw, at 17 to join the end of the 2nd World War. And he stayed in until in his own words just wasn't fun anymore. 1965 to be exact. I was born in 1949, under a bridge on a bay in northwestern California, Form that date, every two and one half years without fail we moved to different duty stations. Once in a while dad was station out of country or sent on an extended mission and mom and i lived with her parents on a farm in northwestern Minn. The time I spent on that farm influenced me in ways it took over 30 years to see. The woods, the quiet, the hard work, the Red River of the North, the lakes of Minn, the support of family and the vastness of the northern grasslands are the underlying foundation of my personality.
