About David Kwait

I saw my early career as a chance to build potential both through education and experience. I obtained an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a JD from Notre Dame Law School. I found opportunities across the country from Maryland to Iowa to California and back. These experiences have enabled me to combine disciplines to forge creative solutions to a wide array of challenges. In real terms, this translates to leveraging communication skills, quantitative analytics and legal reasoning to enhance risk management and ensure compliance without sacrificing profitability. I currently oversee nine employees in a $325 million wealth management group. I personally manage 15% of departmental assets for individuals and foundations alike. As a manager, I believe the best idea should win. In my current role, this attitude fostered a department-wide culture change reflected in the creation of a series of investment policies, procedures and oversight and incentive tools. These changes were designed to manage risk and build consistency across my department. This consistency, paired with technology and process upgrades, has driven efficiency allowing the group to focus on business development. I believe in candor and authenticity with superiors and subordinates alike. This has enabled me to support a variety of corporate governance initiatives including mergers and acquisitions. It has led to my direct engagement with federal and state regulators on all matters related to wealth management. It led to successful outcomes in litigation, and has brought sensible risk management with a focus on the continued growth of the business.
