About David Kynaston

My experience in fluvial and coastal geomorphology has included natural channel design, climate change resilience, and the integration of spatial modeling using remote sensing. From drone acquired photogrammetry, terrestrial hyperspectral, bathymetric sonar to lots and lots of field work; I specialize in the analysis of large and diverse data sets for the purpose of geomorphic systems masterplans, subwatershed studies, and sediment pathways over time and space. As a sessional lecturer for McMaster and University of Toronto, I have presented both introductory and advanced topics on sedimentology and stratigraphy, geomorphology, basin analysis, geological field methods, plate tectonics and environmental science. My research and publications focus on coastal dynamics of sea level changes, the effects of coastal backwaters on fluvial systems and the morphology of incised valleys and the provenance of the sediment that fill them.
