About David Lane

Co-Chairman Australian Silver Industry Group (ASIG) Past Chairman Australian Age Care Exporters Network (AACE) Past Member Australian Masters of Aged Care Services (AMACS) As one of Australia's best known architectural specialists in the Elderly Care industry, I have worked on major domestic projects in all Eastern states across the private, public and charitable sectors and directed work on significant international projects located in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Canada, US and China. I am currently involved in projects throughout Australia Malaysia, the United Kingdom and China. A Partner of ThomsonAdsett since 1986, and appointed Chairman in 2004, I have been instrumental in developing Thomson Adsett's reputation in the Seniors Living Sector (Retirement Living and Aged Care) around Australia and Internationally since 1985. During this period the Company has been responsible for over architectural projects in this Sector. I was responsible for setting up Thomson Adsett's Tokyo office from 1994 to 1997, setting up and managing Hong Kong from 1996 to 2010 and presently expanding the company’s operations into China through the development of Seniors Living projects and urban design opportunities. I have direct experience with over Retirement and Aged Care projects and have initiated stronger corporate linkages to the Health Sector. In addition, I have served on a number of Boards, including DACADS (now Blue Care) for the Uniting Church, and Presbyterian Aged Care NSW and have been a member of AMACS-Australian Masters in Aged Care Services, ACQ-Aged Care Qld, ACSA-Aged and Community Services Australia, AACA-Aged Care Association Australia, Past Chairman of the Australian Aged Care Exporters Network and current Co-Chair of ASIG-Australian Silver Industry Association. In 2008 I was honoured to accept the 2008 Telstra Business Award for Social Responsibility for the company for services to the aged care industry and my passion for the issues impacting the elderly and their built environment is reflected in my industry participation and the presentation of over 200 conference papers and guest lectures within Australia and Internationally.
