About David Lawson

I have worked in the IO kernel stack of Windows since 1995. Prior to Windows kernel development, I was a Unix driver writer and firmware developer for storage and networking products. Over the years, I have had a chance to observe and impact software development processes. I have seen the best and the worst of several different SDLC methodologies, including waterfall, agile, and RAD. I have worked as a lone-wolf engineer, as a team member, and as a team lead on multiple projects. During my career, I have taken part on different national standards bodies such as ANSI X3T9 (SCSI), ANSI X3T10 (Fibre Channel), and Oasis KMIP (Key Management). I have primarily been focused in storage products, but in the later part of my career I moved to networking products, and then to data security products. My primary focus has been on products for the enterprise data center and enterprise endpoints. I have done a great deal of development work on networking products for the virtual environment based on HyperV.
