Background
About David Layton
Over twenty years of experience teaching in higher education and six years experience teaching in high school. I am a specialist in the humanities in higher education. Areas of teaching include Literature, Composition, Humanities, Ethics, Philosophy, and Public Speaking. With multiple academic publications on Literature and Higher Education, I keep active in the intellectual community. There are two books I have authored: The Scarlet Letter: A Navigational Novel Guide (Teacher's Discovery, 2006), and The Humanism of Doctor Who: A Critical Study in Science Fiction and Philosophy (McFarland, 2011). My objectives include effective teaching and writing about the humanities. Additionally, I would like to see the passing away of postmodernist theory in favor of a more rational, humanistic method of studying and teaching. The challenge of teaching diverse adult students keeps me going.
