David had a successful career as one of New York’s Finest, retiring as a Sergeant in 2002 after responding to the 9/11 World Trade Center tragedy and losing his partner. David then directed his focus and energy into real estate and is now the Legaz Team CEO, where he believes that every transaction must be a Win-Win! The Legaz Team quickly became one of the top teams in New York City & Long Island, selling a home every five days where honesty and integrity remain their core principle. David implemented technology systems, created websites that enhanced the selling and buying process that built trust, confidence, and positive results for their clients. This technology continues to evolve with Keller Williams® Realty to deliver the best consumer experience. David is an investor in 2 Queens Keller Williams® Realty brokerages with over 700 agents speaking over 35 different languages and dialects. David is also a Broker in the Flushing Office. Along with The Legaz Team, David pursued additional education and training and earned numerous designations and certifications as they became a trusted real estate resource. David combines his two decades of law enforcement experience and 25 years of real estate practice to teach real estate professionals internationally how to reduce their risk of being targeted by a predator. David co-authored a safety book named “Safe Selling: A Practical Guide for Preventing Crime without Sacrificing the Sale,” which helps agents and their clients. David was also the inaugural chairperson of the National Association of REALTORS® Safety Advisory Committee in 2020 and a Board of Director and Education Chairperson of the Beverly Carter Foundation. David is the 2021 NYS Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR) President, where he advocates in Washington DC and Albany as the voice for the homeowner protecting private property rights. He was the 2017 Long Island Board of REALTORS® President and their REALTOR® of the Year in 2014. David has been a NAR Director since 2013 and a NYSAR Director since 2012.
