About David Levett
I know exactly when my “career” as an engineer started. Christmas morning when my grandfather gave me a Lego electric motor/gear set. I have spent more than 25 years in power electronics design with TASC drives, Schneider and Eurotherm SSD Parker Drives. I have designed IGBT based power converters for switched reluctance, servo, induction and traction motors from 1hp – 500hp and 230V – 690Vac. I have also designed high power >1MW grid tie converters for Solar and battery storage applications. For the last 11 years I have been working for Infineon NA as a design and application engineer. I believe that my many years of mistakes, explosions and fires can help in my role which is to assist engineers, using our IGBT’s and now SiC MOSFETs, to design a better power converter.
