About David Limaverde

I am an Amsterdam-based, Brazilian-born art educator, participatory artist, and researcher; interested in (inventing) participatory arts methodologies. I facilitate Forum Theatre processes, and other Theatre/Aesthetics of the Oppressed techniques; I am a Community Care advocate; and I’m engaged in bringing Global South knowledges to the fields of Art Education, Critical Pedagogy, Artistic Research, and Public Space discourse. I’m interested in speculating how Artistic and Educational practices could be Anti-extractive - and by extractivism, I mean not only the abuse of natural resources, but also of human resources. I’m curious about how to share authorships, and how to co-create art with humans, as well as with non-human agents. In Brazil, you’ll see me working as an art educator along the Amazon River. And in Europe, I will be lecturing, tutoring, researching and facilitating workshops about themes that I discern as urgent. I am a Portuguese native speaker, proficient and fluent in English, Spanish and French with intermediary level of Dutch and Mandarin.
